Modern Foreign Language

“One language sets you in a corridor for life. Two languages open every door along the way.” – Frank Smith

Using games, stories, rhymes and songs, we teach our pupils to listen attentively and respond to French. We also teach them to read simple texts and write phrases from memory.

Learning a foreign language is a liberation from insularity and provides an opening to other ways of life. Through our teaching of French, we aim to encourage pupils’ curiosity and deepen their understanding of the world. We lay the foundation for learning other languages whilst fostering a love of French and an enthusiasm for learning about other cultures.
