Geography

‘The study of geography is about more than just memorizing places on a map. It’s about understanding the complexity of our world, appreciating the diversity of cultures that exists across continents. And in the end, it’s about using all that knowledge to help bridge divides and bring people together.’ – Barack Obama

Geography is a particularly powerful subject which allows students to become explorers of the natural world. We aim to give children the opportunity to use specialist equipment that furthers their understanding of the physical environment around them, and how their existence impacts this.

We explore the local area in which we live and how this differs to other parts of the world. Exploration into ecosystems, weather systems and the overall impact humanity has on the world around us is a key focus in our Geography curriculum.

Furthermore, Concordia Academy aims to develop children’s Geographical skills through comparative studies and by giving them the opportunity to explore and engage with the world around them.
