Art and Design are a form of expression where the child’s sense of individuality is nurtured and trained. At Concordia, we encourage the children to translate what they see around them and capture their interpretations using a host of different mediums. Children enjoy the exploration of all the dimensions that Art and DT have to offer across the school curriculum, including drawing, painting, collage, and sculpture.
Children obtain a knowledge of famous artists, their background, and their style of work. The ability to annotate, evaluate and reflect on areas for improvement are key aspects within the curriculum and children are encouraged to explore new perspectives. The lessons offer the chance for children to develop their emotional expression through art to further enhance their personal, social and emotional development.
