This year, World Book Day fell on Thursday 4th March. However, we decided to celebrate with all of the children in their first week back to school and held a dress-up day on Friday 12th March.
All children were able to come to school dressed as a character from one of their favourite storybooks. We saw many imaginative and wonderful costumes, which are shown below!
During the day, we held a number of events:
- Assemblies where we awarded certificates for the most creative costume
- Art activities where children were able to recreate popular storybook characters
- A show and tell for to children to showcase their favourite books
In addition to this, class teachers planned other fun activities in class and each child received a book voucher, which they can use towards a purchase at a local bookshop or online!
